SOPHIE Monk is pretty clear on what she doesn’t want in a guy.

With her high profile ex boyfriends including Hollywood actor Sam Worthington, musician Benji Madden and footballer Eric Grothe Junior, the unlucky in love 37-year-old will spend the coming months trying to find her perfect mate as the star of Channel Ten’s next season of The Bachelorette.

“I would love them to not want fame, just someone down to earth and sweet,” Monk told News Corp.

“Someone that really likes me for me.

“Someone that works because I don’t want to have to pay for everything.

“Someone who is not competitive. Just a man who has got a good self-esteem. I don’t really want a boyfriend that is obsessed with how he looks because I don’t care.

“And I would love funny but that is tricky.”

The radio and television personality, who rose to fame as a member of pop group Bardot, has often spoken of her struggles to find love.

It was in fact Monk’s mum that encouraged her to reach out to producers of the hit reality TV format.

“It is probably the only way I will meet someone not in the industry, someone grounded and normal,” she explained, admitting her biggest vice would be smoking although she plans on giving up.

“I just keep meeting all these people that have quite big egos in this game.

Channel Ten will soon premiere the next season of The Bachelor, starring Matty Johnson, with The Bachelorette expected to follow.

Looks-wise, Monk doesn’t have a type.

She’s more interested in personality.

Monk ideally wants a partner to support her in her career, although she concedes she’d consider giving up show business altogether for love.

She would also like to start a family and sooner rather than later.

“I definitely want a family and I want someone that wants children too. I want to have a normal life like everyone else,” she said.

FEW people can resist a sneaky singalong to Dionne Warwick’s iconic hit I Say A Little Prayer and the singer has the 1997 movie My Best Friend’s Wedding to thank for that.

The classic rom-com, which starred Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz, featured a classic scene where the entire wedding party sings the 1967 hit in the middle of a restaurant.

While Julia Roberts didn’t actually sing in the movie and instead looked at her fellow diners in disbelief, the actress got in on the singing this time, almost 20 years after the movie debuted.

The 49-year-old actress was at the annual Lancome’s Stars & Wonders gala alongside her friends and fellow Lancome ambassadors Penélope Cruz and Kate Winslet.

Cruz led the singalong at the event, posting an Instagram video of herself singing with Winslet and Roberts.

Roberts seemed to be absolutely enjoying herself as she sings and dances along to the tune.

Roberts has had an extremely busy week.

As well as recreating the iconic scene, the actress was also named PEOPLE Magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” for a record fifth time.

The 49-year-old actress has previously claimed the cover spot in 2010, 2005, 2000 and 1991 and joked that she’d be using the title against her good friend George Clooney.

The actor has only received the accolade of Sexiest Man Alive twice.

“I’m going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year,” she said.

My Best Friend’s Wedding is constantly lauded as one of the best and most classic romantic comedy films of all time.

The movie went on to gross US $300 million at the box office and was in the top 10 biggest films of 1997.

The movie soundtrack also charted at number one on the Australian ARIA charts.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' sequel gives heroes new 'million-piece puzzle'

Published by:

The stars of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the Marvel movie about a rag-tag group of integalactic heroes, landed in Hollywood to debut their return in a much-anticipated sequel that sees them embark on another high-stakes space adventure.

In “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” space heroes Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot find themselves pursued by a villain and once again are given the task of saving the universe.

They are joined along the way by Gamora’s petulant sister Nebula, space pirate Yondu and Mantis, an empathic alien. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on May 5.

“This is a million-piece puzzle and when you sit back and see the mosaic put together you get this one incredibly even, fully executed idea,” Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill, said at the red carpet premiere on Wednesday.

“It’s brilliant, great music, it’s super funny, dramatic and it’s got great emotion and relationships, it’s stunning,” he said.

Sylvester Stallone, who makes an appearance as Stakar Ogord leader of the space pirates known as “ravagers,” said action films “are modern mythology when it’s done right.”

“The kind of action films I’ve done are sort of more mano-a-mano … now they’ve developed this Marvel universe Guardians that have a heart, that has a lot of emotion to it, that takes it another step further,” he said, using the Spanish phrase for “hand to hand” combat that has come to be associated with any kind of competition between two people.

“It’s kind of a cross between ‘Rocky’ (and) ‘Rambo’ in space,” he added.

The sequel follows 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which smashed summer box office records and ushered in a new cadre of edgy heroes in the Marvel cinematic universe.

“I made a movie about outcasts for outcasts and it’s very touching for me that people all over the world, whether here or in Japan or in Russia or in England have been touched by the movie,” writer-director James Gunn said.

Gunn will write and direct the third “Guardians” film, due for release in 2020.

The truth is still out there as 'X-Files' returns for new season

Published by:

Mulder and Scully’s search for the truth will continue in a new series of Fox’s hit sci-fi show “The X-Files,” the network said Thursday, a year after the show was revived.

“The X-Files” will return in the fall with 10 new episodes that will see fictional FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating cases involving unexplained and often extraterrestrial cases.

The series, which ran between 1993 and 2002, was rebooted with a six-episode run last year, reuniting Mulder and Scully as they found themselves once again chasing government cover-ups, monsters, mysterious objects in the sky and their son, William.

The revival drew nearly 16 million viewers, said 20th Century Fox Television, a unit of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc <FOXA.O.

</FOXA.O.

The show drew a devoted cult fan base with its questioning of government secrets and the constant search for the truth.

Show creator Chris Carter told Reuters last year that “The X-Files” as become even more relevant in the present age where conspiracy theories still run rife on the internet and UFOs still perplex people.

Lauren Hutton turns heads at 73 in new lingerie ad

Published by:

Model and actress Lauren Hutton is turning heads again by appearing in a commercial for Calvin Klein underwear, at the age of 73.

Hutton, famous for her gap-toothed smile, is one of the women between the ages of 18 and 73 featured in the new black-and-white ad by “Lost in Translation” movie director Sofia Coppola. Rashida Jones, Maya Thurman-Hawke, Chase Sui Wonders, Nathalie Love, Laura Harrier and Kirsten Dunst also make appearances, all personally selected by Coppola.

Coppola said she wanted to do the opposite of most lingerie ads and instead “showcase cool, smart women with real bodies and who are approachable.”

Hutton appears briefly lounging on a bed in an unbuttoned blouse with a white bra underneath.

Hutton was one of the world’s first supermodels in the 1960s and 1970s. More recently, she walked the runway for Milan fashion week in 2016, reflecting a trend for models of all ages in fashion and beauty ads.
