BERLIN — The German Foreign Ministry states a German-Turkish double national has reportedly been detained in Istanbul, an episode that functions as connections between both countries have been strained by previous arrests of citizens.
The Spiegel on the web news website claimed the Adil Demirci was detained over the course of a visit with his mommy there. It said authorities last week stormed the Istanbul apartment.
The Foreign Ministry said that it believes that Demirci was detained but “confirmation by your Turkish authorities remains pending”
Spiegel on the web composed that Demirci is a social worker in Cologne and also on the side writes for the ETHA news agency.
The Foreign Ministry said it doesn’t the moment support that Demirci is still a journalist.
