LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A frail-looking Robert Durst appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday for the start of a hearing to establish whether the actual estate scion must stand trial for its murder 18 years ago of a friend who prosecutors say could have tied him to the supposed murdering of his own wife.
Seventy five, Durst, entered la Superior Court dressed up in a grey and tan lawsuit for event to assess.
He appeared to nod at times throughout approached by also a coroner, a police forensic scientist and his own apartment director’s engineer.
The Jinx Durst, the enigmatic subject of ldquo & the most famous HBO documentary,” has been charged in 2015 by the murder of Susan Berman, a day later that its last installment aired .
Prosecutors say Durst fatally shot a writer, Berman and the daughter of the organized crime figure, in la in 2000 for everything she knew regarding his wife’s death.
Berman, 55, was found dead at her supplement which few months later it had been disclosed that police in nyc had reopened an investigation in to the 1982 disappearance and presumed slaying of Kathleen Durst, his wife who was simply a medical student in nyc after she disappeared.
Durst hasn’t guilty to first-degree murder charges stemming from rsquo & Berman;s death. In addition, he has denied having anything at all related to the disappearance. He’s not been arrested or charged in this situation.
Even the miniseries researched rsquo Durst &connections to rsquo & Berman;s slaying, his wife’s unsolved also his 2003 acquittal and disappearance at dismemberment and the slaying of a Texas neighbor.
At the closing moments of “& rdquo, The Jinx; Durst, the heir to your New York real estate opportunity, is heard muttering to himself ldquo, & offcamera? Killed needless to say. ” The documentary has offered grist for prosecutors at the same time as defense attorneys have sought to keep the footage out of courtroom and also emphasise the generation since discriminated contrary to their client.
