President Donald Trump will not take advantage of his upcoming visit to Israel to announce plans to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, although he still wants to take that step, a senior administration official said on Wednesday. Russian news agency Sputnik reported.
The official said Trump’s administration did not want to complicate efforts to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks by announcing the transfer of the embassy.
The official said: “Trump will use his visit to Saudi Arabia to encourage the Gulf countries to form a force in the Middle East similar to NATO,” according to “Reuters.”
The official added that Trump “strongly believes in human rights, but this is not expected to be a major subject of his discussions in Saudi Arabia.”
