Whoever owns the noodle shop at Hanoi where Anthony Bourdain appreciated a $6 meal with Barack Obama at 20-16 says she is shocked during the chef’s passing.
“I had been amazed and gloomy when I discovered about [Bourdain],”” Nguyen Thi Nga informed AFP news agency in Hanoi.
The restaurant, Bun Cha Huong Lien, soared to fame after Bourdain ate there together with then-President Obama within a episode of the star chef’s television show.
Bourdain was discovered lifeless on Friday in an apparent suicide in his hotel room.
Ms Nga, that helps run the restaurant at the Vietnamese capital, recalled Bourdain like a”fine, helpful and handiest individual”.
“He praised our bun cha dish and its own particular fish-sauce broth, he adored Vietnamese foods,” she said.
At 20-16, Bourdain shared with the very simple meal with Mr Obama at the pub. The two guys sat plastic stools since they consumed grilled steak, pork noodles and fried spring rolls – washed down with Hanoi beer.
Pictures of the casual evening meal went viral right following Bourdain, known because of his love of adventuresome street food,” clarified the day at a succession of tweets and an Insta-gram post.
The dining table where the set ate and sat, detailed with evening meal group and beer bottles, was later encased in glass placed on display at the pub.
“The clients love it, most take photos beside the table,” Ms Nga advised the BBC earlier this year, including:”For individuals, it is a great memory card which we’re going to cherish forever”
