Barcelona beat Juventus 0-1 in the first half in the Champions League

Spanish champions Barcelona ended the first half with a 0-0 win over Juventus in a firefight at Camp Nou in the opening round of the Champions League group stage.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi scored the Catalan team’s goal with a ground-shot in the 45th minute and was the first to hit the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Juventus were the most dangerous of the attackers in the first third of the hour as they threatened the goal of goalkeeper André Ter Stegen in 3 strong shots in the minutes 6, 9 and 12, amid intense pressure and control by Barcelona players.
