British man survives death by arrest at an airport in Germany

man survived a possible death by arrest at the Munich airport in southern Germany.

According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa, federal police said Wednesday in Munich that the man complained of heart ache when undergoing a mandatory health check before he was incarcerated.

The doctors then found that the man had a rare and serious illness, which made them immediately set a date for an operation. The Russian news agency Sputnik reported.

According to hospital data, the 39-year-old man could have died soon without undergoing the test.

The British man was arrested for failing to pay a fine. The German authorities issued an arrest warrant against him on the basis of a sentence imposed by the court of the city of Osnabruck in August 2015, on charges of causing physical injuries in two cases.

The man refused to pay the fine at Munich airport. According to police data, the British were guarded at the hospital.
