Carter: Trump justice for Palestinians “hopeless”

Former US President Jimmy Carter on Wednesday criticized US President Donald Trump’s claims of his ability to achieve peace in the Middle East.

Carter said in a statement published by the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth that Trump’s justice of the Palestinians was “practically hopeless”, stressing that “I do not think Trump or his family are making any progress in this regard.”

The former US president criticized the Israeli and Palestinian leaders alike for not following flexibility in the peace talks, but blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump’s ally, for the failure of the peace talks, saying that Netanyahu “has absolutely no intention of reaching a two-state solution
