MILWAUKEE — Sometimes, base ball is more than a game.
Early in Wednesday’s series finale versus the Chicago Cubs, Rachel Morrison and both kids Trey and Luke had been respected as’Heroes of the overall game’, standing as representatives for their husband and dad Colonel Jay Morrison, who’s operating at the military.
What they didn’t understand was while the audience began to cheer and stand for that household, Colonel Morrison himself was walking behind them for a surprise emotional reunion.
“I simply jumped to his arms,” said Trey, that flipped 1 2 on Wednesday.
His dad set to Kuwait in July, 2017, only coming home for an instant trip round Christmas.
Trey believed these were going into the Brewers game because of his birthday, also knew he’d secure some kind of shout out.
But he assumed his dad was still in Kuwait, especially due to the fact his dad sent him a movie Wednesday early morning stating he was sorry to overlook his birthday.
Meanwhile, his dad was stateside the entire time, and also their mom Rachel was on it.
“That has been tough, I’m really not a very good liar,” she said. “To see the faces of the children maybe not knowing me and anything just wanting to see him”
The Morrison family members has needed a lot of tearful reunions, because Col. Morrison was active duty in the military as 1995.
He has missed Trey’s last 3 birthdays due for his military service, yet this birthday is one Trey will not forget.
“For a kid, annually being gone is indefinitely also to make this season seem favorable, to put a topper onto it,” leaves it awesome,” said Col. Morrison.
“well worth the wait, well worth the wait,” said Rachel.
