Demonstrations in Berlin in support of European unity

Thousands of people demonstrated in the streets of the German capital Berlin under the slogan “Europe’s pulse” in support of European unity.

Elsewhere, other demonstrations took place across the cities of Frankfurt and Cologne, as well as similar demonstrations in other European countries such as Ireland and France, Euro News reported on Sunday.

The events were aimed at expressing opposition to the idea of France leaving the European Union. The demonstrators in Berlin echoed the French slogan “Freedom, equality, brotherhood” and carried banners reading “In the name of friendship” in French, chanting “Long live Europe
