DR Congo Ebola outbreak spreads into Mbandaka city

The Ebola epidemic in Congo has spread by the countryside into a metropolis, prompting fears the disease will likely be hard to control.

Wellbeing Minister Oly Ilunga Kalenga supported a case in Mbandaka, a city of one thousand people about 130km (80 kilometers) by the area where the earliest cases have been confirmed earlier that month.

The metropolis is a big transportation hub with paths towards the capital Kinshasa.

Fortytwo folks have now been contaminated and 2-3 men and women are known to have died.

The WHO’s Peter Salama mentioned health workers experienced identified 430 people who might have experienced connection with the disease and were also working to trace more than 4,000 connections of Ebola patients, ” that had spread around southern Congo.
