Former Italian prime minister re-elected head of Democratic Party

Former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was re-elected on Sunday as Italy’s ruling center-right Democratic Party, according to the three candidates who competed in the elections, before the end of the counting process.

In total, between 1.9 and 2 million people voted, according to the Democratic Party, and this result is a clear decline compared to the previous electoral entitlements, which registered the participation of three million people.
