Intensive searches of Brussels stations and police arrest 44

Hundreds of Brussels police officers on Thursday night launched a new search campaign at the Brussels-Nord railway station in cooperation with the railway police and the foreigners’ office.

The northern district police said this morning that the search operation is ongoing and that 44 migrants have been arrested in the same place, including 11 unaccompanied minors arrested yesterday, and 19 migrants have been transferred to the closed reception center.

It should be noted that the inspection carried out by police officers on Thursday does not concern only the immigrants of Maximilian, but a general inspection.

Belgian Interior Minister John Gambon recently announced that the government would address the situation in Brussels Park, where many immigrants reside and will intensify inspections.

In the same context, Minister of Labor and Economy Chris Peters decided to send inspectors to monitor employers who occupy immigrants for a low fee and without a permit.
