Oil and natural gas leak from a well in Alaska

A spokesman for the US oil company BP said on Thursday that a leak of crude oil has occurred in the North Slope area of ​​Alaska.

The leakage from an oil well in the direction of the cold arid tundra plains in the north, but the volume of leaks so far is still unknown, the US news network ABC News reported.

The network said other quantities of natural gas were leaking from the site along with crude oil and investigations were underway to find out the causes of the accident.

A spokesman for Alaska’s local authorities said the clean-up would only begin after the leak from the oil well had stopped.
