Pope Francis calls for “violence” in Venezuela

Pope Francis appealed for “violence” in Venezuela, calling for a solution to the “serious” crisis in the neighboring country of Colombia, where he concludes his first papal visit to Cartahina des Indes on Sunday.

“I want to emphasize that I am sincere to both Latin American countries, and especially to neighboring Venezuela,” he said. “I appeal for the rejection of all forms of violence in political life and for a solution to the serious crisis under way,” he added.
