Russian President Vladimir Putin votes in local elections

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday cast his vote in the local elections in the Russian capital Moscow, according to pictures published by Reuters news agency.

The polling stations opened around 8:00 a.m. local time in 82 out of 85 administrative units, and 16 governors will be elected, according to the Sputnik news agency. Boycotting, and sub-elections are held by the federal parliament.

Some 46 million Russian voters are expected to vote in the election.
