Trump calls for learning from the mistakes of the Holocaust era and “vigilance”

US President Donald Trump on Monday called for learning from the mistakes of the Holocaust era, stressing the need to be vigilant about “the doctrine of hatred and indifference.”

“Every generation has to preserve the lessons of the Holocaust so that such atrocities, brutality and annihilation never happen again,” Trump said in a speech on the occasion of Memorial Week. “We must never forget,” Trump said.

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the president who converted to Judaism before marrying Jared Kouchner, who has become an adviser to the president, stressed the need for world leaders to make every effort so that “the Holocaust never happens again.”

Atheer’s argument was in late January, days after Trump took office when he issued a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust, in which Jews were not specifically mentioned.
