White House confirms Trump’s participation in upcoming NATO meetings

The White House said Tuesday that President Donald Trump will take part in the NATO summit in Brussels on May 25, his first foreign visit since his election in November.

“The president looks forward to meeting with his NATO counterparts to reaffirm our commitment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and to discuss vital NATO issues, in particular the sharing of responsibility among allies and NATO’s role in the war on terror,” the US presidency said in a statement.
